Focusing on promoting the sound and rapid development of small and medium enterprises in china , CASEM main undertakings are as follows :
·Assist the government to publicize and implement relative laws, regulations and policies such as Law of the People's Republic of China on Promotion of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Several Opinions of the State Council on Encouraging, Supporting and Guiding the Development of Individual and Private Economy and Other Non-Public Sectors of the Economy；
·Provide services to small and medium enterprises in creating business, management consulting , investment and funding, technology support, enterprise informatization, staff training , talents introduction , international cooperation , exhibitions and trade fairs and legal consulting and so on ;
·Build an information platform for SMEs to collect and publish information and provide services for SMEs to develop new products and markets , bring in talents and technologies and participate in government and international procurement;
·Safeguard the legal rights and interests of SMEs and entrepreneurs;
·Research and establish a certification system for enterprises training and careers, build an evaluation system for enterprises training and careers and accelerate the process of making talents professionalization and marketization;
·Entrust by the relevant government branches to carry out identification of qualification and management upgrade service for small and medium enterprises;
·Carry out contacts with associations for SEMs and other economic organizations abroad ; organize members to participate in international economy and technology exchanges and co-operations;
·Organize and host various kinds of trainings, workshops and high-level forums to improve the overall qualities of entrepreneurs;
·Research and explore theoretical and practical problems on the SEMs’s development, objective, system, policy, management; investigate and report their suggestions and requirements to government authorities for their reference in policy decision-making.
·Disseminate advanced experiences, launch activities to elect , recognize and publicize outstanding SEMs and entrepreneurs and promote SMEs to build their own brands and independent creativeness;
·Guide SMEs to follow laws and regulations , keep good faith , enhance their professional ethics and    comment social responsibilities actively ;
·Publish journals on SMEs;
·Other activities entrusted by the government authorities.
